Who needs warm water to go diving?
Certainly not us right?
On Dec. 28 and Jan. 1 (that would be January 1, 2009) a few adventurous souls made a quick trip to Beach 8th to get a little wet. Amongst them were Rich R., Rich B., Bill B., our new President, (Hail to the Chief), Don P., (Mr. Who-needs-a-dry-suit-the-water-is-46-degrees), Cosmo D. and I on the 28th and Cosmo D. and yours truly yesterday (Don P. came along for moral support and to help with any limbs that might have fallen off due to frostbite). The viz was not bad at all on the 28th, around 10 feet, and you could not ask for a nicer day. It was in the fifties outside. The water temp. was 47. Yesterday the viz was excellent, around 20 feet. The water was a tad chillier, 37 degrees, but it was well worth it. Inside the water the dry suits worked their magic and it was only upon getting out that it felt like our fingers were going to fall off There were crabs everywhere and it was quite amusing to see them all covered with sand except for a little bit of shell sticking out. I also saw what I think was a 6 inch pipefish wrapped around a rock by one of the cages. _________________ Angel |
